Obituary, Robert E. Ringler

 

STORMVILLE – Robert E. Ringler, 85, an area resident since 2008, died on April 29, 2016 at home. He previously lived in Mohegan Lake.

Born in Southampton on July 25, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter and Pauline Ringler. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Cold War era. He had been employed in the print shop at St. John Riverside Hospital in Yonkers until his retirement in 2007. He was a parishioner at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.

On October 17, 1964 in Yonkers, Robert married Gloria Jane DeVenish Ringler who predeceased him in 2012. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Robert and Christine Ringler of Yorktown, Pam and Keith Davis of Stormville, and Sandra and Bret Malone of Catskills; his grandchildren, Christopher Fleissner and his girlfriend Katie Sweet, Lance Malone, Neil Malone, Shelby Malone, and Madison Ringler; his great-granddaughter, Elyanna Fleissner; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was also predeceased by his great-granddaughter, Shaelynn Fleissner in 2012 and his twin brother, Peter Ringler.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at  895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Denis Church followed by interment at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.

Donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Research, Wounded Warrior Project, or the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation.
