Westchester County Woman, Man Face Drug Charges

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a woman and man from Westchester County on drug charges.

On April 19, 2016 at 7:06 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Frank Gallipani stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Nardin Road in the Town of Putnam Valley. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Heather L. Farr, 21, of 3001 Jacobs Hill Road, Cortlandt Manor, New York, was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance and a hypodermic needle. The deputy arrested Ms. Farr and charged her with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and with Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, misdemeanors. The deputy further determined that a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Daniel J. Platoni, 19, of 300 Barger Street, Cortlandt Manor, New York was in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance. The deputy arrested Mr. Platoni and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor. Farr and Platoni were processed at the PCSD Nelsonville Substation and subsequently released in their own recognizance pending a May 12, 2016 appearance in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charges, the defendants could each face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00 for each charge.
