Two women arrested in Town of Saugerties resulting from a domestic incident

Kingston, NY

On April 22, 2016 the New York State Police – Bureau of Criminal Investigation SP Kingston arrested DONNA L. SMITH, age 45 of Tannersville, NY for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2nd and MICHELLE SALERNO, age 31 of Saugerties, NY for Harassment 2nd.

On April 22, 2016 SP Kingston Troopers responded to a 911 poll for a domestic incident on Emerick Rd in Saugerties, NY. Upon arrival Troopers found sisters’ in law SMITH and SALERNO with injuries resulting from an altercation between each other over a family dispute. During the investigation it was revealed that SMITH also injured SALERNO’S 7 year old daughter during the altercation causing a bloody lip to the 7 year old. Subsequent to interviews, SMITH was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A-Misdemeanor) and Harassment 2nd (Violation) for her actions during the incident. SALERNO was arrested for Harassment 2nd (Violation) for her actions and subsequent injuries to SALERNO resulting from this incident.

Both SALERNO AND SMITH were issued appearance tickets to the Town of Saugerties Court on April 4th, 2016 for their respective charges and released on their own recognizance from SP Kingston.
