Two women arrested in Town of Saugerties resulting from a domestic incident

Kingston, NY

On April 22, 2016 the New York State Police – Bureau of Criminal Investigation SP Kingston arrested DONNA L. SMITH, age 45 of Tannersville, NY for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Harassment 2^nd and MICHELLE SALERNO, age 31 of Saugerties, NY for Harassment 2nd.

On April 22, 2016 SP Kingston Troopers responded to a 911 poll for a domestic incident on Emerick Rd in Saugerties, NY. Upon arrival Troopers found sisters’ in law SMITH and SALERNO with injuries resulting from an altercation between each other over a family dispute. During the investigation it was revealed that SMITH also injured SALERNO’S 7 year old daughter during the altercation causing a bloody lip to the 7 year old. Subsequent to interviews, SMITH was arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A-Misdemeanor) and Harassment 2^nd (Violation) for her actions during the incident. SALERNO was arrested for Harassment 2^nd (Violation) for her actions and subsequent injuries to SALERNO resulting from this incident.

Both SALERNO AND SMITH were issued appearance tickets to the Town of Saugerties Court on April 4^th, 2016 for their respective charges and released on their own recognizance from SP Kingston.
