Busy weekend for Putnam Lake firefighters!

Started off the weekend with the motor vehicle accident on Doansburg Road blocking traffic in and out of Putnam lake for over 16 hours. During the accident Putnam Lake FD also responded to a fire alarm on Federal Hill Road in Brewster. The accident victim was transported to the ER with minor injuries later being released.

Saturday afternoon Putnam Lake assisted Brewster FD with a serious gas leak due to the road closure on Doansburg Road.

Sunday, units responded to a report brush fire at the A&P in Patterson’s fire district along with a fully involved structure fire in New Fairfield Saturday evening. Putnam Lake FD supplied water with our tanker and an engine to Ball Pond as a fill site for the tankers.

In between all of this there was numerous medical calls, our pancake breakfast, and two different fire boat demos.

The members of the Putnam Lake Fire Department don’t rest, we live to serve and protect our great community!

Units: 23-1-1, 23-1-2, 23-2-4, 23-2-5, 23-4-1
