Three Wappingers Falls men charged with Assault

Wappingers Falls, New York – On April 11, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 20-year-old Marquett L. Ryans, of Wappingers Falls, New York, for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

On April 9, 2016 at approximately 10 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to a reported assault that occurred in the Village of Wappingers Falls.  An investigation revealed that the 17-year-old male victim had met Ryans, who was an acquaintance, in a wooded area off of Wenliss Terrace.  Following a physical altercation, Ryans shot the victim several times in the head with a BB gun.

On April 10, 2016, Latif S. Reid-Ogarro, 22 years old, of Wappingers Falls, and a 17-year-old Wappingers man and were both charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.  The two men participated in the altercation which injured the victim.

Ryans was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and released on his own recognizance.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on April 28, 2016.

The 17-year-old Wappinger man was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Village of Wappinger Falls Court at a later date.  Reid-Ogarro was arraigned before the Honorable Village Justice Chase and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail or $2,500 bond.

The State Police were assisted by Mobile Life EMS and the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department.
