Obituary, Stanley H. Benham Jr.

 

Millbrook – Stanley H. Benham Jr., 87, died on April 2nd at home in hospice care. Born to Mildred and Stanley H. Benham in Stanfordville, NY, he attended Millbrook Memorial High School. He graduated from Clarkson College of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was a Second Lieutenant in the Army Signal Corps Reserves. He worked for General Electric and then was employed by IBM, where he worked for 32 years.

After retirement, he moved to Oak Summit Road, Millbrook, NY, spending some of his leisure time golfing, hunting, fishing and bowling. He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Lyall Memorial Federated Church.

He is predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Murphy and a brother, David and is survived by brother, Sidney of Stanfordville, NY and sister, Virginia Augerson of Millbrook, NY. In addition to his wife, Shirley, his survivors include three sons and their wives: Thomas and Beatrice of Kingston, NY, William and Lynda of East Quogue, NY and Stephen and Margaret of Sidney, NY. Other survivors are granddaughters Jill Benham and Renee Hart; grandsons Michael, Bradley, Matthew and Garrett Benham; and two great granddaughters, Clarissa and Paige Hart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Meals On Wheels in care of Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Maple Avenue, Millbrook, NY. Funeral Services will be held on April 9th at 11 AM at the Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Maple Avenue, Millbrook, NY.
