Brooklyn man arrested for entering Sing Sing Correctional Facility with weapon

PRESS RELEASE

Ossining, New York – On March 19, 2016, the New York State Police from Hawthorne arrested Tyshawn Plowden, age 28, of Brooklyn, New York, for Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree, a Class D Felony.

Plowden entered Sing Sing Correctional Facility with a weapon.  The defendant was at the facility to visit an inmate.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Plowden was arraigned at the Town of Ossining Justice Court and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $25,000 bond. His next appearance at the Town of Ossining Court was scheduled for March 22, 2016.
