Lloyd woman arrested for Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records

PRESS RELEASE

03/15/16 – The New York State Police, Highland BCI announce the arrest of Sheilann B. Jones-Blackwell, age 35, from Highland, NY for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (a class D felony) and Falsifying Business Records (a class A misdemeanor).

03/15/2016 – The New York State Police – Highland BCI concluded an investigation initiated by the New York State Department of Labor who determined that unemployment monies were being fraudulently collected by Sheilann B. Jones-Blackwell, who had claimed to be unemployed during a period of time spanning November of 2012 to March of 2013. Investigation found that Jones-Blackwell was in fact gainfully employed during that time period and therefore was ineligible for the unemployment monies she received which amounted to total of $4,736.50.

Jones-Blackwell was arraigned before Judge Rizzo of the Town of Lloyd Court and was subsequently released on her own recognizance and was ordered to re-appear on 03/29/16 at 5pm.
