Obituary, Patrick L. Keefe

 

Sharon CT – Patrick L. Keefe died peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Sharon Hospital. Patrick was born March 17, 1949, in Sharon to the late Edward and Jean Keefe formerly of Amenia, NY. Patrick was a graduate of Webutuck Central School. He joined the navy and completed training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. During his twenty year career he did tours on the ships Francis Marion, Affray, Talbott and USS Gilmore stationed at Sardinia, Italy. He became a naval recruiter in Carmel, NY and then upper Michigan and Wisconsin and received many recruiting commendations. Patrick had a quick sense of humor and a fondness for beagles, especially his special buddy Ace. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, golf, and hunting and was an avid Giants and Mets fan.

On February 14, 2016 he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with his devoted wife Diane Flanagan Keefe of Sharon.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children Patrick Keefe Jr and Felicia Hudson and her husband Branden, grandchildren Shawn and Taylor Ann Keefe, and Avery, Julia and Josephine Hudson. Also surviving are sisters Kathleen and husband Gus Tancredi, Anne Chamberlin and Mary Jean and husband Neil Hoss and many nieces and nephews in the area.

A mass of Christian burial will held on March 17th, 2016 at 11am at St. Bernard’s Church in Sharon, CT. A military service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sharon Volunteer Ambulance, PO Box 357, Sharon, CT.
