COLUMBIA  SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS TWO FOR BURGLARY

Claverack, NY – Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports the arrest of 29 year old Joseph C. Moore of State Route 217, Claverack and 33 year old Kristen K. Bishop of State Route 9H, Claverack for Burglary.

Deputy Sheriff Patrick Mayo was dispatched to a report of a burglary complaint that had occurred at a residence on State Route 23 in the Town of Claverack on Monday March 7th, 2016.

Investigators Patrick Logue and Reagan Anderson continued the investigation in the area on Monday afternoon when Detectives David Miller and Jeff Keyser along with Patrol Officers Chris Duntz and Kevin Sweet from the Hudson Police Department assisted and developed information which ultimately lead to the arrest of Moore and Bishop. Both individuals were cooperative with the investigators and made admissions of their involvement in the Burglary.

Moore was arrested at 7:45pm Monday March 7th, 2016 and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree a class C Felony and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony. Bishop was arrested on March 10th, 2016 at 12:40pm and charged with the class C-Felony of Burglary in the Second Degree.

Both individuals were arraigned in the Claverack Town Court by Judge Michael Brandon after their respective arrests and were remanded to the Columbia County Jail on $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail bond. They will return to court at a later date.

Sheriff Bartlett said “Residential burglaries are violent crimes and this is just another great example of how local law enforcement agencies working together solve these types of crimes efficiently and quickly.”

Along with the Hudson Police Department, Sheriff’s Investigators were also assisted by Columbia County District Attorney Paul Czajka’s Office.
