UPDATE: State Police arrest 27 people in Sullivan County drug trafficking ring

The New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, City of Middletown Police Department, Town of Fallsburg Police Department, Village of Monticello Police Department, Village of Liberty Police Department and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office announce the arrest of more than 20 individuals in connection with a drug trafficking ring operating in Sullivan County.

In addition to the arrests, law enforcement seized hundreds of grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, weapons and cash.

The individuals arrested and charged are responsible for bringing a large amount of cocaine and heroin into Sullivan County.

In September of 2015, members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team received information regarding the distribution of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine in Sullivan County.

Police were able to identify Adrian Phillip of Fallsburg, NY and David Velazquez of Middletown, NY as the leaders of two drug trafficking organizations.

An investigation determined that Velazquez predominately sold crack, cocaine and heroin in wholesale quantities, while Phillip distributed both wholesale and small quantities of crack, cocaine and heroin throughout Sullivan County.

On March 9 and 10, 2016, State Police and federal, county and local law enforcement partners executed search warrants and took 27 individuals into custody for their involvement in the operation.
