The Pawling Farmers Market opens Saturday, June 18 for the season

March 1, 2016 Pawling, New York – The Pawling Farmers Market opens Saturday, June 18 for the season, with extended hours, more vendors and more special programs delivering the finest fresh produce, specialty foods, and wines the Hudson Valley has to offer.  The market, now in its 9th season, will be open Saturdays through October 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with more than 38 vendors at the market situated on Pawling’s Village Green.

This year will offer a variety of produce, locally roasted coffee, farm-fresh eggs, prepared food products, poultry, and more.  Returning favorites, such as Wave Hill Bread, Trapani Orchards and Pickle Licious, the market has also once again increased its artisan program with hand-made cutting boards, jewelry, pottery, and photography.

A petting zoo from Two by Two will help launch the season June 18, with a free-of-charge (donations appreciated) traveling zoo for Farmers Market visitors.  The zoo will feature a kangaroo, goats, tortoise, pot-bellied pig—even a bearded dragon. The petting zoo will return to the Farmers Market on August 13, for those who want another opportunity to see them.  Nick, the knife sharpener will be on hand once a month, to make sure all your blades are as sharp as can be. Each Saturday, musicians offer live performances. Other events at the Market will include pottery making and “Pop up repair”, an opportunity to get your household items made good as new.  Event times will be posted on the Market website at www.pawlingfarmersmarket.org.

The Pawling Farmers Market is located immediately off Route 22 in the picturesque Village of Pawling on the newly renovated Village Green, surrounded by shops and restaurants, including Petit on Main (PFM’s music sponsor), The Book Cove (our long term sponsor) , The Frosty Noggin and McKinney & Doyle Fine Foods, among others.  Plenty of free parking is available, and Metro North’s Harlem Line stops right in Pawling, less than a block from the market.
