**UPDATE** 17-Year-old Amenia teen charged with making a terroristic threat at the Webutuck High School

**UPDATE**
On March 2, 2016, the New York State Police from Dover Plains arrested a 17-year-old student from Webutuck High School for Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D Felony.  The arrest stems from an investigation that commenced on February 29, 2016, where a student made a threat of school violence.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of North East Justice Court before the Honorable Dennis Johnson and released on his own recognizance.  He is due to reappear in court on March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Amenia, New York – On February 29, 2016, the New York State Police from Dover Plains responded to the Webutuck High School, located on Haight Road, to investigate a threat of school violence.  The school, following protocol, was immediately placed in a shelter-in-place.

The State Police conducted a search of the school and determined that the threat was unsubstantiated.

The investigation into the threat is continuing and anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the State Police at (845) 677-7300.
