Cortlandt, New York – On February 29, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 25-year-old Antoine K. Boyd, of Peekskill, New York, for Criminal Possession of Marihuana 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate a two-car auto collision that occurred in the area of Westbrook Drive and East Main Street.  Dispatchers alerted the responding officers that Boyd attempted to leave the scene of the crash however his vehicle became disabled.  Boyd was observed removing a bag from the truck of his car and placing it in dumpster behind the Vitamin Shoppe on East Main Street.

An investigation revealed that a Peekskill woman was attempting to pull out of a parking area and make a right hand onto the roadway.  Boyd stuck her vehicle when he entered the parking area, failing to maintain his lane of travel.

Troopers located the bag that Boyd placed in the dumpster and discovered that it contained over 10 ounces of marihuana.  Boyd was placed in custody for marihuana possession and transported to the Cortlandt station for processing.

On March 1, 2016, Boyd was arraigned before the Town Justice Klein and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.  He is due to return to the Cortlandt Court on March 7, 2016.
