Troopers from Cortlandt arrest Croton on Hudson man following welfare check

Cortlandt, New York – On February 14, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested 67-year-old Lawrence Brooks of Croton On Hudson, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony.

Troopers patrolling State Route 9A observed a vehicle stopped in the lane of travel where the operator appeared to be slumped over the wheel.  The arresting officer conducted a welfare check of the driver, who was found to be intoxicated.

Brooks was charged with Felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from 2009.  He was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Court on February 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
