Cortlandt, New York – On February 4, 2016, New York State Police from the Cortlandt station arrested 64-year-old Doron Avgush of the Bronx, New York, for two counts of Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On February 4th, Troopers were dispatched to the Home Depot located on East Main Street in Cortlandt for a male subject in custody for shoplifting.  Loss prevention at the Home Depot reported that Avgush took copper couplings and electrical materials from the store, failing to pay for the items.

The loss prevention agent reporting the incident also advised police that Avgush returned over $600 worth of Behr paint to the store in December of 2015.  It was discovered that the returned paint buckets had been emptied and filled with water when Avgush returned them for a refund.

Avgush was issued appearance tickets for both incidents directing him to appear before the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on February 19, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
