Taghkanic, New York – On February 4, 2016, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested 29-year-old Christopher T. Kubin of Cleveland, Ohio, for Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor.  Kubin was additionally charged with Reckless Driving, an unclassified Misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped the defendant on the Taconic State Parkway for speeding.  Kubin stopped his Ford Taurus in the lane of travel and was directed to pull onto the shoulder.  He failed to comply with the officer’s orders and left the scene of the traffic stop.  Kubin then crossed through the center median of the parkway and started traveling northbound. Kubin was stopped after traveling approximately 5 miles and was placed in custody following a brief struggle.

Kubin was arraigned before the Town of Taghkanic Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.  He is due to reappear in the Taghkanic Town Court on March 5, 2016.
