Newburgh man arrested for DWI following erratic vehicle complaint

East Fishkill, New York – On February 13, 2015, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks arrested Lionel G. Lucas, 48 years old, of Newburgh, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to investigate the report of an erratic vehicle traveling on the Taconic State Parkway. The calling party updated responding patrols that the vehicle had just exited the parkway and was now traveling on Interstate 84. Troopers located the vehicle which was traveling on Interstate 84 at approximately 20 miles per hour in a 65 MPH zone. The vehicle was also unable to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, identified as Lucas, was found to be intoxicated.

Lucas provided a Breath sample that yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .19%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication. Lucas was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of East Fishkill Court on February 18, 2015.
