Dover man arrested following Olivet Center break-in

PRESS RELEASE

Dover, New York – On February 16, 2015, New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested Andrew C. Mayes, 25 years old, of Dover Plains, New York, for Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to the Olivet Center, formerly the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, in Wingdale, for a trespass complaint. Upon entering the hospital building, Troopers observed Mayes who immediately fled on foot after spotting police.

Following a brief foot pursuit, Mayes was located by a State Police Canine.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

Mayes was arraigned before Town of Dover Judge Abrams and was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Dover Court on March 9, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.
