Kinderhook, New York – On February 1, 2016, New York State Police from the Kinderhook barracks arrested Daniel Reutzel, 27 years old, of Hudson, New York, for Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to the Cumberland Farms in the Village of Valatie to investigate the report of a possible intoxicated Driver.  Prior to police arriving on scene, a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description was located traveling on State Route 9.  The vehicle, operated by Reutzel, was stopped after the arresting officer observed the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign.  An investigation revealed that Reutzel was impaired by drugs at the time of the stop.

A State Police Drug Recognition Expert was used to evaluate Reutzel.

The defendant was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Kinderhook Court on February 16, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
