State Police Arrest Jeffersonville Man For Rape

State Police members assigned to the Sullivan County Family Violence Response Team, along with Investigators and Troopers from the Liberty barracks arrested Douglas A. Shindler, age 51 of Jeffersonville after investigating a report that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with a child. State Police had been attempting to locate Shindler for the past week and arrested him in the Village of Jeffersonville after receiving a tip from a local resident as to his whereabouts.
Shindler was charged with Rape 3rd Degree, a felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Delaware Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail.
