Carmel Man Charged With Criminal Mischief

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on a charge of Criminal Mischief.

On January 15, 2016 at 12:49 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Thomas Des Jardins responded to a report of a family dispute at 18 Hemlock Terrace in the Town of Carmel. Upon arrival, the deputy determined that Christopher M. Bruno, 28, of that address had destroyed items of property in the residence during a dispute with his parents. Mr. Bruno’s father indicated that he wanted to press criminal charges against his son. The deputy arrested Mr. Bruno and charged him with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was arraigned before Town of Carmel Justice Joseph Spofford and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500.00 cash bail or bond pending a future court appearance.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
