State Police arrest Sherman man following welfare check in Dover

Dover, New York – On January 19, 2016, New York State Police from the Dover Plains barracks arrested James P. Holihan, 25 years old, of Sherman, Connecticut, for Driving While Intoxicated a Misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.

At approximately 2:38 a.m., Troopers stopped to check on the driver of a vehicle stopped in the CVS parking lot in Dover.  The driver, identified as Holihan, was sleeping in the vehicle and found to be intoxicated.  Police also charged Holihan with possessing approximately 2.8 grams of marihuana.

Holihan supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .13% and was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Dover Justice Court on January 21, 2016.
