Brewster, New York – On January 15, 2016, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested Elder R. Martinez Giron, 23 years old, of Brewster, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers from the Brewster barracks stop a vehicle on Main Street in the Village of Brewster. The operator of the vehicle was secured in the patrol vehicle and under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. A second vehicle, operated by Giron, was traveling eastbound on Main Street. Giron failed to maintain his designated lane and collides into the rear of the stopped patrol vehicle.

Giron was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.  No one was injured as a result of the collision.

Giron provided police with a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .22%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication.  He was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Village of Brewster Justice Court on February 8, 2016.
