Wappinger, New York – On January 16, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 71-year-old David E. Reis of Wappinger, New York, for 2 counts of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and 1 count of Falsifying Business Records 1st Degree, a Class E Felony. Also charged as a result of this investigation was Vincent Diaz, 38 years old, of Millerton, New York, for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree.

In December of 2014, Troopers were dispatched to Performance Motorcar Inc. to investigate a larceny complaint.  A detailed investigation revealed that two ex-employees had altered paperwork on car sales enabling them to sell the low value trade-in vehicles for their personal financial gain.

Reis was arraigned before the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and released on his own recognizance.  Diaz was arraigned before the Village of Fishkill Court and released on his own recognizance.  Both defendants are scheduled to appear before the Town of Wappinger Court on January 21, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
