Somers, New York – On January 17, 2016 at approximately 9:01 p.m., New York State Police from the Somers barracks were dispatched to investigate a two-car head-on auto collision that occurred on State Route 202.

Following an investigation conducted by responding officers, it was discovered that a 2008 Toyota pick-up truck operated by Clint R. Herbert, 42 years old, of Somers, New York, was traveling eastbound on State Route 202.  A 2013 Ford Explorer, operated by Michele McIsaac, 62 years old, of Baldwin Place, New York, was traveling westbound on State Route 202.  Herbert failed to maintain his designated lane of travel and entered the westbound lane striking the Ford head-on.

Herbert was transported to Putnam Hospital and pronounced deceased.  McIsaac was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash was reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

The crash remains under investigation and it does not appear that alcohol or drug contributed to the cause of the crash.
