Stockport, NY- On January 15, 2016, the New York State Police from Livingston charged Patricia J. Gregory, 42 years old, of Stockport, with 14 counts of animal cruelty under Article 26 of the Agriculture and Markets Law.

On January 14, 2016, State Police were dispatched to Majestic Drive in the Town of Stockport for a welfare check. Troopers entered the residence to interview the homeowner and located several malnourished dogs in need of medical attention. Three deceased dogs were also located inside of the residence. The home was in deplorable condition with urine and feces covering the floor. The dogs also did not have access to food or water.

The investigating trooper immediately contacted the Columbia-Greene Humane Society who took over the care of the dogs. An investigation revealed Gregory moved out of the home in November of 2015.

Gregory was located and transported to SP Livingston where she was given an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the Town of Stockport Court on February 1, 2016.

The State Police were assisted by the Columbia-Greene Humane Society and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

The dogs are available for adoption through the Columbia-Greene Humane Society. The Humane Society can be reached by calling 518-828-6044 or CGHS.org.
