Poughkeepsie man charged with possessing stolen license plates

Wappinger, New York – On January 11, 2016, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Jebediah D. Deangelis, 25 years old, of Poughkeepsie, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On January 6, 2016, Troopers stopped a 2002 Hyundai in the area of Jackson Road and New Hackensack Road for failing to maintain its designated lane of travel.  The driver of the vehicle who was identified as Deangelis, was issued traffic tickets for operating an unregistered vehicle bearing switched license plates.  Deangelis was also charged for driving with a suspended license.

Subsequent investigation conducted by the arresting officer revealed that the license plates on Deangelis’ vehicle were stolen.

Deangelis was issued an appearance ticket for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree and is scheduled to appear before the Town of Wappinger on January 20, 2016.
