Obituary, Louise Alexanderson

 

Wingdale – Louise Alexanderson of Wingdale, NY died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the age of 86. She was born on April 23, 1929, the first child of Elizabeth Fisk Joyner and Larkin Joyner, in Bronx, NY.

Mrs. Alexanderson is survived by her husband of seventy years, CARL I. ALEXANDERSON, of Wingdale, NY; four children: Linda (Alex) Miller, and her husband Alan of Vestal, NY, Peter Alexanderson, and his wife Robin of Brewster, NY, Amy Heinrich, and her partner Carmelo Bueti of Wingdale, NY, and Lisa Whalen of Schenectady, NY; as well as a brother, RICHARD ALEXANDERSON, of Woodbury, Long Island. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Louise and Carl moved to Mahopac Falls, NY in 1957, where they brought up their four children, all of whom attended the Mahopac School District. They resided in Mahopac for 17 years, and in 1974 they moved to the Pawling area where they resided for 20 years.

Louise attended Dutchess Community college where she obtained a B.S. in Sociology in 1974 and she later obtained her B.S.N. in Nursing.

Louise served as head nurse in the Recovery Room at the Putnam Hospital Center for 18 years, and retired in 1989. She then became a public health nurse in Dutchess County where she served for many years before retiring to Florida.

She and her husband Carl moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 1995, where they made many friends and enjoyed sailing, gardening and many other activities during a long and enjoyable retirement.

No services will be held but a Memorial Service will be scheduled in her memory at a later date to be determined.
