3 Poughkeepsie residents arrested in Town of Lloyd for narcotics possession stemming from traffic stop

12/26/15 – The New York State Police – Highland BCI announce the arrests of 22 year old Kemani S. Longmore, 29 year old Floyd A. Evans and 53 year old SharonRose Elvin, all of Poughkeepsie, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (heroin).

On 12/26/15, New York State Police patrols at SP Highland conducted a vehicle and traffic stop of a vehicle operated by SharonRose Elvin, while on State Route 9W in the Town of Lloyd. Investigation and a probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants yielded the discovery of numerous items of drug contraband including a quantity of heroin, marijuana and prescription medication of a controlled substance nature. Elvin was ultimately charged for Criminally Possessing a Controlled Hypodermic Instrument (a class A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (a class A misdemeanor). Evans was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Unlawful Possession of Substance in the Seventh Degree. Longmore was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Unlawful Possession of Substance in the Third Degree (class B felony), Fourth Degree (class C felony) and Seventh Degree (heroin). Longmore was also additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (a violation), Tampering with Physical Evidence (a class E felony) for concealing drugs on his body and Possession of a Controlled Substance Outside of Its Original Container (a Public Health Law violation).

Elvin and Evans were ultimately released on appearance ticket returnable to Lloyd Town Court on 01/17/15 at 3pm. Longmore was arraigned at the Town of Lloyd Court and subsequently remanded to Ulster County Jail on $25,000 cash / $50,000 bond and ordered to re-appear in Lloyd Court on 12/29/15 at 4pm.
