Obituary, James Jay “Jimmy” McEathron

 

Valatie – James Jay “Jimmy” McEathron, 48, a ten year area resident formerly of Jacksonville, FL, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Jimmy work as a roofing specialist with Phelps Bros. Roofing in Nassau (Rensselaer County), NY, for many years.

Born June 27, 1967 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Everett J. “John” McEathron of Dover Plains, NY, and Meredith “Peggy” (Fleming) Burk of Jacksonville, FL. Jimmy attended local schools in Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, FL. Jimmy was an active member of the Solid Rock Church of Columbia County in Hudson, NY, and was an avid reader with particular emphasis on the Holy Bible. He spent a great deal of time ministering to people in recovery and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by his step mother, Ruth McEathron of Dover Plains; his four children, Dustan Marie, Cheyenne and Katelyn McEathron of Hazelhurst, GA, and James J. McEathron of Valatie, NY; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Tatiana McEathron; four brothers, John, Daniel, Andrew and Mark McEathron and his sister Linda Strickland; two step brothers, Phillip and James Tompkins; two step sisters, Terry White and Chrystal McGrain-McEathron and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services and burial will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1pm at the Garrison Cemetery, 146 Garrison Road, Harrisville, NY. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Peter’s Hospice, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY, 12208 or to a .
