Wappinger man arrested for felony driving while intoxicated

LaGrange, New York – On December 20, 2015, New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested John A. Spiegel Jr., 24 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree, both Class E Felonies.

Spiegel was stopped by the State Police on Red Oaks Mill Road for speeding. Following an investigation conducted by the arresting officer, Spiegel was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop.

The defendant was charged with felony DWI when a criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from February of 2012.  Spiegel was additionally charged with operating a motor vehicle not equipped with an interlock device and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1stDegree.

Spiegel is due to appear in the Town of LaGrange Court on January 12, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
