Barbara M. DiGiovanni, age 64, of Poughquag, NY passed away on December 20, 2015 at her mother’s home in Katonah, NY. Barbara was born in New Rochelle, NY to her parents Anita Marrone (Margiotta) and George Marrone. She was predeceased by her husband Louis DiGiovanni and her father. Barbara graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and attended the College of New Rochelle. She was an administrative assistant at the Law Firm of Pierson, Reilly and LeMoult in Darien, CT. She was the loving mother to her cherished son Christopher DiGiovanni, the light of her life. Barbara was born with a kind, beautiful heart and a special gift to bring joy and happiness to all those who knew her. She was devoted to her family and pets and many friends, and beloved by all. She is survived by her grieving family, her mother Anita of Katonah, NY, her son Christopher of Poughquag, NY, her brother George of Port Chester, NY and George’s son Marc (Imogene) of Las Vegas, NV, her sister Anne Kajdi (George) of Port Chester, NY, and her sister Nancy of Katonah, NY. Barbara’s enduring hope is that the best minds of this earth will come together and use their talents to find a cure or vaccine against cancer. Her family wishes to thank her doctors and nurses at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Northern Westchester Hospital for their expert and loving care of Barbara, and the and Hospice for their support to her family.
Friends may call at 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s RC Church, 117 Valley Rd., Katonah, NY on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
