Troop K commends several prominent members on their upcoming advancements

PRESS RELEASE

Pleasant Valley, New York – Since 1917, the New York State Police has had a history of producing superior law enforcement professionals that distinguish themselves as leaders.  Troop K would like to commend and applaud the following members on their recent promotion or reclassification:

Lieutenant Nicholas A. Banbury, an 18-year veteran of the New York State Police currently serves as lieutenant of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.   Effective December 17, 2015, Lieutenant Banbury is promoted to the rank of Captain where he will be assigned to Division Headquarters at the Forensic Investigation Center in Albany.

Lieutenant Anthony Miserendino, Jr., a 29-year veteran of the New York State Police is presently assigned as Assistant Zone Commander of Zone Three, which covers the Westchester County area.  Effective December 17, 2015, Lieutenant Miserendino is promoted to the rank of Captain and will serve the Internal Affairs Bureau in Albany.

Effective December 17, 2015, Investigator Christopher J. Mulkins, a 16-year veteran of the State Police, is promoted to the permanent rank of Lieutenant where he will be assigned to the Forensic Identification Center in Albany.  Investigator Mulkins is now assigned to Troop K BCI.

Effective December 17, 2015, Investigator Scott M. Hurley, who entered the New York State Police Academy in April of 2000, is promoted to the permanent rank of Lieutenant.  Investigator Hurley currently works in the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit and will serve as Lieutenant of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Troop K Headquarters.

On December 17, 2015, Investigator John P. Shaughnessy, a 16-year veteran of the New York State Police, is promoted to the permanent rank of Lieutenant.  Investigator Shaughnessy currently works in SP Cortlandt Bureau of Criminal Investigation and will serve as Lieutenant of Zone 3.

Sergeant Timothy P. Sammon, who entered the New York State Police Academy in May of 1999.  Effective December 31, 2015, Sergeant Sammon is appointed to Station Commander of the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center in Hawthorne.

Effective December 31, 2015, Trooper Imani A. Kirkland, an 11 year veteran of the New York State Police, will be promoted to the permanent rank of Sergeant and will transfer to Troop L.  Trooper Kirkland is currently stationed at SP Hawthorne.

Effective December 31, 2015, Trooper Jason J. Orlich, a 14 year veteran of the State Police, will be promoted to the permanent rank of Sergeant and will transfer to Troop L.   Trooper Orlich is currently stationed at the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center.

Investigator Roy E. Kievit, a New York State Trooper since June of 2004, will receive the permanent rank of Sergeant effective December 31, 2015.  Investigator Kievit currently is assigned to the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit and will remain in his present assignment.
