Wingdale woman arrested for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant out of Dutchess County for Larceny

SOUTHBURY CT — Police arrested two shoplifting suspects, one a fugitive from justice, Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Stop & Shop, 100 Main St. North, just before 1 p.m. After a brief investigation, the two suspects were found in the Crowne Plaza parking lot at 1284 Strongtown Road.

Kaitlyn A. Cassidy, 27, of Wingdale, N.Y., and Ciro Gallignano, 29, of 2 Cedar Lane in Wingdale, N.Y., admitted to the shoplifting and were both charged with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Gallignano was released on $1,500 bond for a Dec. 16 court date.

Police later learned there was an extraditable warrant for Cassidy’s arrest out of Dutchess County for violation of probation for a third-degree grand larceny charge, the report said.

Cassidy’s bond was set at $1,500 and she was scheduled to appear in court on Southbury’s charges on Monday. Then she would have to answer for the fugitive from justice charge, police said.
