Obituary, Jason R. Smith ‘Jay’

 

Jason R. Smith ‘Jay’, of Dover Plains, NY, died suddenly on November 27, 2015 at home. He was 33 years old.

Jay was born on June 30, 1982 in Danbury, CT, son of Deborah L. Mayes, Dover Plains, NY and Leroy DeVarney, Vermont. Jason attended Carmel High School and Fox Meadows High School.

Jason was a driver, mover and installer with Champ Movers Incorporated, Dover Plains, NY, since moving back to NY in 2014. His role in the company will be impossible to replace with just one man.

Jay was a great and loyal friend to everyone who entered his life. He always made you smile with his humor and wit. Jay was a closet romantic and very passionate in all aspects of his life. He was a hard worker and a handyman. Jay had a passion for cooking as well, he went to culinary school when he was younger and loved to cook.

Besides his parents, Jay is survived by his brothers John B. Smith and Jonathan Behnen, step sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins and several friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 11:00am at , 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY. Interment following at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday December 4, 2015 from 4-8pm.
