State Police arrest two women following robbery investigation

Cortlandt, New York – On November 20, 2015, New York State Police from the Cortlandt Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Jean M. Rodrigues, 55 years old, of Yonkers, New York, for Robbery in the 3rd Degree, A Class D Felony.  Also arrested was 52-year-old Miriam Gonzalez, of Pleasantville, New York.  Gonzalez was charged with Petit Larceny.

On June 22, 2015, Troopers were dispatched to Walmart in Cortlandt for a reported larceny. Walmart staff reported that Rodrigues stole more than $500 worth of merchandise from the Mohegan Lake Walmart.  Upon being confronted by loss prevention, Rodrigues threatened the imminent use of a gun to avoid being arrested.

Gonzalez waited nearby in a vehicle and drove Rodrigues from the scene.

Rodrigues was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.  She is due to return to the Cortlandt court on December 4th.

Gonzalez was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court for November 30th.
