State Police arrest Kinderhook man following Burglary investigation

Kinderhook, New York – On November 18, 2015, New York State Police from the Kinderhook barracks arrested Nicholas J. Panetta, 33 years old, of Kinderhook, New York, for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

At approximately 1:05 a.m., State Police were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a Kinderhook residence for a possible burglary in progress.  Troopers arrived at the Cove Street address and observed a subject inside of the vacant home.  Following commands issued by the State Police, the suspect fled on foot from the home traveling down several Kinderhook streets.  Several minutes later, the suspect who was later identified as Panetta, was located hiding in a wooded area and placed under arrest.

Subsequent to an investigation conducted by the arresting officers, Panetta was also charged with unlawfully possessing Suboxone.

Panetta was arraigned before the Town of Livingston Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. He is due to appear in Kinderhook Court at a later date.
