Milan, New York – On November 13, 2015, New York State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested 45-year-old Donald Thorpe, of Milan, New York, for Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony, Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, all Class A Misdemeanors.

On November 2, 2015, State Police were contacted by a Milan woman who reported that she was involved in a domestic dispute that occurred on the evening of November 1, 2015. An investigation revealed that as a result of the physical disturbance, the victim suffered from a head injury and was choked. Thorpe also physically restrained the victim, preventing her from leaving the residence for a safe location. When the victim was able to leave the residence, he followed her and intentionally rear-ended her vehicle with the vehicle he was operating.

The Town of Milan issued a warrant ordering Thorpe’s arrest when police were unable to locate his whereabouts.

Thorpe was located and taken into custody on November 13, 2015. He was arraigned before the Town of Milan Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is due to reappear in Milan Court at a later date.
