Obituary: Gilda Borrelli

 

EAST FISHKILL – Gilda Borrelli, 96, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2003 and formerly of Pawling, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her home.

Born in the Bronx on November 17, 1919, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Anna Porto Visconti. Gilda worked as a hairdresser with her sister, Angelina Visconti, in the Bronx. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. Gilda enjoyed gardening, but more than anything she loved spending time with her family.

On August 6, 1939, Gilda married Nicholas Borrelli who predeceased her on September 13, 2002. She is survived by her son, Baron Borrelli of Bellevue, WA; her daughters, Sandra Ferrara of Hopewell Junction, and Valerie Boccadoro of Yonkers; her grandchildren, Damon and Lori Boccadoro, Justine and Joseph Guerra, Donna and Mark Chamberlin, and Nicole Borrelli; and her great-grandchildren, Marco and Stefan Chamberlin, Bobby, PJ, Taylor and Alexa Guerra, and Nicholas Boccadoro.

There are no calling hours. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday  11/18 at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
