Pleasant Valley man arrested following Pawling vehicle pursuit

Pawling, New York – On November 7, 2015, New York State Police in Dover Plains arrested 28-year-old Christopher C. Spence, of Pleasant Valley, New York, for Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd Degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Degree, and several other vehicle and traffic offenses.

Troopers monitoring traffic on State Route 55 in the Town of Pawling attempted to stop a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix traveling in excess of 80 miles per hour.  When the officer activated his emergency lights and sirens, the driver continued on State Route 55 at a high rate of speed.  Following an estimated 5 mile long pursuit, the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle identified as Spence, came to a stop on Harmony Hill Road where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Spence was arraigned before the Town of Dover Justice Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.  Spence is due to appear in Pawling Court on November 12, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.
