Briarcliff Manor, New York – On October 11, 2015, New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested Eamonn P. Grimes, 41 years old, of Bronx, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Class D Felony.

Troopers were dispatched to a hit and run auto collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway.  Troopers responding to investigate the crash were given a description of the offending vehicle that fled the scene.

A patrol from the Hawthorne barracks observing southbound traffic located the suspect vehicle, a black ford Explorer.  Troopers stopped the vehicle and interviewed the driver who identified himself as Grimes.  A subsequent investigation revealed that Grimes was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Grimes was charged with Felony DWI when his criminal history revealed a previous DWI related conviction from July of 2006.  He was also charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident.

Grimes is due to appear in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on October 22, 2015.
