Tarrytown man charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

Clinton, New York – On October 13, 2015, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested John McDowell, 48 years old, of Tarrytown, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to a vehicle and traffic complaint on the Taconic State Parkway.  The officer arrived on scene and located a Honda Fit facing in the wrong direction at the southbound exit ramp to Salt Point Turnpike.  The investigating officer woke the sleeping driver who was identified as McDowell.  Pursuant to an investigation, McDowell was arrested for DWI.

The defendant provided a positive breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .21%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxicated in New York State.  McDowell was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clinton Court on October 23, 2015 and was released to a sober party.
