Dennis Sica sentenced in overdose death of Thomas Miller of Pawling and Anthony Delello of Beekman

WHITE PLAINS – Dennis Sica, 37, of Hopewell Junction has was sentenced Thursday in federal court in White Plains to 35 years in prison for distributing tainted heroin that contributed to three overdose deaths.

Sica pleaded guilty in last  April to conspiracy charges accusing him of dealing heroin that was deliberately laced with the powerful drug anesthetic fentanyl and distributed in packets stamped “Breaking Bad.” That branding featured the logo of the TV series about a meth kingpin.

On Feb. 1, 2014, 31-year-old Thomas Miller of Pawling was found dead with several “Breaking Bad” packets near his body. The same day, in New Milford, Conn., Laura Brown was found dead with “Breaking Bad” packets around her.

Prosecutors said the drug also killed 20-year-old Anthony Delello of Beekman in December in 2013.

Prosecutors said Sica knew about the fatal overdose but kept selling the drug around the Hudson Valley, contributing to two more deaths early last year.

Sica was arrested Feb. 2, 2014, in East Fishkill after a car in which he was riding was stopped by police. During a search of the vehicle, police found several bags of drugs stamped “Breaking Bad.”
