Hopewell Junction man charged with sexual abuse

Brewster, New York – On September, 17, 2015, the New York State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Brewster and the Putnam County District Attorney’s Office report the arrest of 68-year-old Joseph J. Faraone of Hopewell Junction, New York, for one count of Criminal Sexual Act 2nd Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, both Class D Felonies.

Faraone, an employee of a local non-for-profit human service organization, was arrested after an investigation found that he had sexual contact with a 50-year-old female patient who was unable to consent.

Faraone was arraigned before Town of Southeast Justice Richard Vercollone who remanded him to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on September 23, 2015.
