State Police investigate Alden Place School Incident Update

UPDATE –  The New York State Police continue to thoroughly investigated this morning’s events and have interviewed the male party involved. At this point, there is no indication of any danger to students or staff and the allegations made by the student appear to be unsubstantiated.

Millbrook, New York – On Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at approximately 9:12 a.m., New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks were dispatched to Alden Place Elementary School for a reported suspicious person complaint.  Troopers from the Poughkeepsie barracks, including members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, responded to the school to investigate the allegations.An Alden Place student reported to school administrators that a male approached them while they were walking to school and attempted to grab them.

The New York State Police continue to thoroughly investigated this morning’s events and have identified the male party involved. At this point, there is no indication of any danger to students or staff and the allegations made by the student appear to be unsubstantiated.

The State Police will have increased patrols in the area of the Millbrook schools during dismissal today, as well as during the morning and afternoon hours for the remainder of the week for precautionary reasons.
