County to Host Special Needs Movie Day
Saturday, September 26th at Roosevelt Cinemas in Hyde Park
Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro invites children with special needs, their families and support agencies to a free movie event on Saturday, September 26th at 10 AM at the Roosevelt Cinemas in Hyde Park. The theater will adjust both lighting and sound to make the experience more enjoyable for children on the autism spectrum or who experience sensory issues. Space is limited, therefore advance reservations are required.
“Something as simple as a movie outing can be challenging for individuals and families who have special needs,” said Dutchess County Executive Molinaro. “Our movie day is a fun opportunity for families raising children with special abilities to enjoy a simple, relaxing and stress free outing at the local movie theater. We are grateful to our sponsors and Roosevelt Cinemas for helping to make this fun event possible. ”
