Troopers arrest Liberty woman for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

On 09/09/2015, troopers from the Liberty barracks arrested Deborah Stein, 54, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. At approximately 11:30 p.m., troopers observed Stein asleep at the wheel in a Dodge Intrepid on Heinle Road in the town of Liberty.  Upon their initial interview of Stein, troopers observed that she had impaired motor coordination and spoke with slurred speech. She admitted to taking multiple pain medications several hours earlier. She performed and failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest for DWAI-Drugs. Stein was taken to Catskill Regional Medical Center where a sample of blood was taken and is pending laboratory analysis. She was transported to SP Liberty where she was processed and released. Stein is to appear in the town of Liberty court on 09/24/15 at 9:00 a.m.
