State Police arrest Fishkill woman for insurance fraud

Beacon, New York – On September 10, 2015, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Raquel Estrada-Moschetto, age 51, of the Town of Fishkill, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Insurance Fraud in the Third Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, all Class D Felonies.

An investigation revealed that between December of 2014 and May of 2015, Estrada-Moschetto had fraudulently cashed numerous insurance checks made payable to a deceased person. The checks were endorsed with forged signatures of the deceased person, and the checks had a total value of over $8,000.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Financial Services Criminal Investigations Unit.

Raquel Estrada-Moschetto was arraigned at the City of Beacon Court. She was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. Her next court appearance was scheduled for September 16, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.
