Labor Day Crackdown Details result in 60 Arrests in Dutchess County

During the Labor Day Crackdown Period members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Town of East Fishkill Police Department, Town of Hyde Park Police Department, City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, City of Beacon Police Department, Village of Red Hook Police Department, Village of Millerton Police Department and the New York State Police conducted multi-agency “Saturation Patrol” details throughout Dutchess County as part of a high visibility “Crackdown” enforcement campaign.  Additionally a joint agency sobriety checkpoint was conducted by some of the involved agencies as well. The goal of the Labor Day Impaired Driving Crackdown as all other crackdown periods was to discourage people from driving impaired, promote awareness, and keep the roadways safe.  These details were conducted during part of the Labor Day crackdown period of August 21, 2015 thru September 7, 2015 ending the grant period which started in October 2014.   This crackdown period resulted in a total of 60 arrests which included 53 impaired driving arrests.
These details were funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation which once again awarded the Dutchess County STOP-DWI Program a “Crackdown Enforcement Grant” for the 2014-2015 Crackdown periods. The objective of this continued enforcement grant is to revitalize and enhance the visibility of the STOP-DWI Program through coordinated multi-agency impaired driving enforcement details targeting identified statewide crackdown periods. They also include the assignment of certified Drug Recognition Experts (DRE) to aid in the identification and apprehension of drivers impaired by drugs other than alcohol.

Dutchess County STOP-DWI Coordinator William Johnson had the following message “The coordinated crackdown enforcement efforts are simply targeted to help reduce the numbers of impaired drivers on the roads and to save lives. Impaired driving continues to be a serious safety threat and by raising public awareness we hope to reverse that trend. The STOP-DWI Program acknowledges the dedication of law enforcement and all of the traffic safety partners dedicated to this mission”

The crackdowns which spanned from October 2014 thru September 2015, included eight separate periods which are listed below and resulted in a reported total of 368 arrests, including 295 Impaired Driving arrests by the participating agencies in Dutchess County.

– Thanksgiving 11/26/14 – 11/30/14

– Holiday Season 12/12/14 – 1/1/15

– Super Bowl  1/31/15 – 2/2/15

– St. Patrick’s Day 3/13/15 – 3/18/15

– Memorial Day 5/22/15 – 5/26/15

– Fourth of July 7/3/15 – 7/6/15

– Labor Day 8/21/15 – 9/7/15

  • Uriel Adams (20 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI, BAC .08% or more & Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd all misdemeanors in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Arthur Echavarria (54 yoa) of Beekman, NY was charged with DWAI Drugs a misdemeanor in the Town of LaGrange.
  • Randy Reyes (26 yoa) of Miami, FL was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Pleasant Valley.
  • Christine Vogt (43 yoa) of Red Hook, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Red Hook.
  • Luois Perillo (36 yoa) of Fishkill, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI both misdemeanors after being involved in a property damage auto crash on Waterbury Hill Rd in the Town of LaGrange.
  • Lawrence Inger (55 yoa) of Lloyd, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Pleasant Valley.
  • Angel Calle (50 yoa) of Wappinger Falls, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Wappinger.
  • Angel Calle (50 yoa) of Wappingers Falls, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors for a second time after he was driven home and then went back, retrieved his parked car and was stopped again in the Town of Wappinger.
  • Kevin Cravey (55 yoa) of New York, NY was charged with DWI a misdemeanor in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Joaquin Muniz (18 yoa) was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors after being involved in a property damage auto crash in the Town of Hyde Park.  Muniz was also arrested on a warrant from the Town of Hyde Park.
  • Miguel Angel Valencia (27 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Shaniece King (25 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWAI a violation & Suspended Registration a misdemeanor on Maple St in the City of Poughkeepsie.
  • Timothy Gleason (50 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
  • Alonzo Jordan (43 yoa) of Poughkeepsie was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th & Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor vehicle 2nd both misdemeanors in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

  • Sandra Sofka (54 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
  • Brent Goodbrake (29 yoa) of Tuscalossa, AL was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Town of Hyde Park.
  • Robert Davies (32 yoa) of Kingston, NY was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd a misdemeanor in the Town of Hyde Park.
  • Andrew Martensen (24 yoa) of Highland, NY was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd a misdemeanor in the Town of Hyde Park.

  • Alfred Jantzen (49 yoa) of Tivoli, NY was charged with DWI a felony in the Town of Red Hook.    The charge was a felony since Jantzen had a previous DWI conviction within the prior ten years.
  • Steven Hutchinson (22 yoa) of Millerton, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors in the Village of Millerton.
  • Hector Salazar-Ramos (47 yoa) of Millerton, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st all felonies.   The DWI charges were felonies since Salazar-Ramos had a previous DWI conviction within the prior ten years and the AUO charge was a felony since his license was suspended or revoked due to a DWI related charge and he was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.   He was also wanted on a warrant from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and was turned over to them.

  • Doreen Cipully (48 yoa) of Hopewell Jct, NY was charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI & Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st all felonies in the Town of East Fishkill.   The DWI charges were felonies since Cipully had a previous DWI conviction within the prior ten years and the AUO charge was a felony since his license was suspended or revoked due to a DWI related charge and he was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

  • Thomas Ahern (49 yoa) of Hopewell Jct, NY was charged with DWI a misdemeanor and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st a felony in the Town of East Fishkill.    The AUO charge was a felony since his license was suspended or revoked due to a DWI related charge and he was intoxicated while operating the vehicle.

  • Robert Accordino (34 yoa) of Orlando, FL was charged with DWI a misdemeanor.
  • Edward Fitzgerald (34 yoa) of Brewster, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI both misdemeanors.
  • Elizabeth Bogdan (37 yoa) of Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Anthony McLean (28 yoa) of Beacon, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Grace Morse (19 yoa) of Sharon, Ct was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Michael Cowan (58 yoa) of Wingdale, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI both misdemeanors.
  • Gina Nelson (37 yoa) of Dover Plains, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI both misdemeanors.
  • Meredith Del Cielo (21 yoa) of Fishkill, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Jonathan Cruz Reyes (34 yoa) of Danbury, Ct was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • William Boggs (42 yoa) of Hopewell Jct, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Thomas Lam (26 yoa) of Croton on Hudson, NY was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Patrick Lamborn (27 yoa) of Philadelphia, PA was charged with DWI & BAC .08% or more both misdemeanors.
  • Karen Dembosky (59 yoa) of Glenham, NY was charged with DWI & Aggravated DWI both misdemeanors.
  • A 28 yoa male from Poughkeepsie was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.
